The Toronto Blue Jays will attempt to rebound from Thursday’s 8-7 loss to the Boston Red Sox when they start a three-game weekend series against the Baltimore Orioles on Friday as -120 favourites on the MLB chances at sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark.com.
Toronto withdrew an early 6-1 lead in Thursday’s defeat as a +115 underdog, but maintains a respectable 5-3 record in its last eight home contests entering Friday night’s Orioles vs. Blue Jays betting matchup in Rogers Centre.
The Blue Jays have struggled with balancing in outings despite generating offence. The team has racked up 6.75 runs per game over its past 12 contests, but with opponents tallying 71 total runs through that stretch Toronto continues to be forced to settle for a middling 6-6 record. On the other hand, the OVER has regularly paid out in totals betting, going 16-5-1 in the previous 22 competitions of Toronto.
The Orioles arrive after dropping two of three at Tampa Bay to start their present six-game road excursion. Baltimore tallied a victory in Wednesday’s series finale but the Orioles have been road performers of late.
Baltimore has come in 12 straight road series since the first week of the regular season. The Orioles’ road series win came at the start of April in Toronto, when they posted victories in two games during a three-game set, with each victory.
The Orioles returned to their struggles against Toronto if the Blue Jays visited in mid-June. The Blue Jays have posted wins of 28 meetings together with the Orioles according to the OddsShark MLB Database, and took two of three from the AL East basement-dwellers.
The Blue Jays will require a strong outing. The right-hander is coming off the worst month of his MLB career in June, amassing a bloated 12.00 ERA in 27 innings of work over six begins. Sanchez has surrendered 27 total earned runs.
But, Sanchez has been stable against the Orioles, restricting them to five complete earned runs in 18.1 innings over his previous three starts against them, but he earned the win in merely one of those contests.
