Blue Jays open series with Orioles as favourites on MLB odds

The Toronto Blue Jays will attempt to rebound from Thursday’s 8-7 loss to the Boston Red Sox when they open a three-game weekend series against the Baltimore Orioles on Friday as -120 favourites on the MLB odds at sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark.com.
Toronto withdrew an early 6-1 lead in Thursday’s defeat as a +115 underdog, but keeps a respectable 5-3 record in its last eight home contests going into Friday night’s Orioles vs. Blue Jays betting matchup in Rogers Centre.
The Blue Jays and balancing in recent excursions have struggled despite generating offence. The team has racked up 6.75 runs per game over its previous 12 contests, but with competitions tallying 71 complete runs through that stretch Toronto has been made to settle for a middling 6-6 record. The OVER has paid out in totals gambling, going 16-5-1 in Toronto’s past 22 competitions.
The Orioles arrive after dropping two of three to start their current road excursion. Baltimore tallied a victory in Wednesday’s series finale to prevent the sweep as a +185 bet on the Rays, but the Orioles have been road performers of late.
Baltimore has come up short in 12 road show since the very first week of the regular season. The Orioles’ road series win came in Toronto when they posted victories in two matches through a three-game set, with each victory.
When the Blue Jays seen in mid-June the Orioles returned to their own struggles against Toronto. The Blue Jays have posted wins in 19 of 28 meetings with the Orioles according to the OddsShark MLB Database, and took two of three from the AL East basement-dwellers.
The Blue Jays will require a strong outing out of Aaron Sanchez, who is expected to get the call in Friday’s series opener. The right-hander is coming off the worst month of his MLB career in June, amassing a bloated 12.00 ERA in 27 innings of work over six begins. Sanchez has surrendered 27 total earned runs.
But, Sanchez has been steady from the Orioles, restricting them to five total earned runs in 18.1 innings over his past three starts against them, but he made the win in just one of these contests.
