Since Marcos Alonsos late strike gave them a 1-0 win over Newcastle at Stamford Bridge chelsea moved into the Premier League top four.
Chelsea finally broke down a stubborn Toon since Alonso (73) struck a fierce low campaign after being fed by Callum Hudson-Odoi at the left of the box.
The first half lacked any clear-cut opportunities as while in the next Tammy Abraham had three clear chances to score, both sides of Alonsos winner Chelsea fought to break a Newcastle side objective of enjoying on the counter.
The result means Chelsea go to the top four with their fifth straight win in all competitions, whereas Newcastle fall into the bottom three.
Clear opportunities were hard to come by, Although the first half wasnt short on action in each third. Newcastle utilized their pace at Miguel Almiron, Allan Saint-Maximin and Joelinton to create a few issues for Chelsea, however, Kepa Arrizabalaga had no shots to save as the visitors registered just 30 per cent ownership.
